After a long 25 years of a new library being in the planning stage, The Gladstone Library which has been under construction for months is now open!
It got an upgrade from 5,100 square feet to 6,216 square feet. The library has a brand new modernized look and consists of a new kids’ play area, a community room, a teen room, and even a brand new courtyard! The teen room is reserved for only teens past 2 p.m. and it has board games there and comfortable chairs to hang out there.
In the community room, it contains a large room in which there are many tables, where large groups of people can get together to work or study. They will also have weekly story times for all ages on Fridays at 3 p.m. and Saturdays at 10:30 a.m.
A new program they are also offering is the G.O.A.T. (Gladstone & Oak lodge Advisory Teens) program, which is a volunteer program. They meet on the first of every month to discuss relevant topics to library services for teens. If you want to build volunteer hours, talk to the front desk at the library for more details!
